1. What we mean by a cookie
A cookie is a small file a browser stores for a site. We use localStorage for the same job: remembering a choice on this device. Neither follows you across other sites.
2. Strictly necessary storage
One first-party key stops the banner returning on every page of this journal. Clearing site data for wrnrnbrsstuddio.uk-trips.com deletes it. The UK Trips board on uk-trips.com keeps its own key.
